Happy New Year

A bit late I know but then Christmas and New Year were a little hectic to say the least. Two weeks before Christmas my wife, Heather, had an accident in her car on black ice cracking her sternum which severely limited her mobility. Consequently, most of the preparations for the festive season became my responsibility including all the cooking (fortunately that’s something I enjoy) and the main bedroom being in the process of re-decoration had to be completed. I won’t bore you with all the details but as a result lots of things got put on hold – like buyng presents and making and sending Christmas cards etc.- and writing my blog!

However, it didn’t stop me thinking a bit more about a project Heather and I have been considering for some time. Heather is a sound artist (see her web site www.heatherwastie.co.uk) and we have been considering the possibility of combining her skills and knowledge of Soundbeam and mine as a counsellor. The result was we have now created what we think will be a very exciting, interesting and enjoyable workshop which we are calling PsychoSound. The first one will be held in the wonderful, timber-framed Church House in Areley Kings near Stourport. The object will be to explore motivations and inhibitions to creativity. Numbers are to be limited to eight and as it is the first of which we hope will be several more and the cost is a special rate of only £45.00 for the day (10.15-3.15). For further details look up www.psychosound.org.uk. If you would like to attend do get your application in a.s.a.p. as with only eight places it is bound to be filled quickly.
